Progress #9 Pea Seeds – Shelling
‘Progress #9’ is a must have for pea-lovers. Short vines produce large 4 1/2 inch pods in abundance. Inside the pods, you’ll find large, tender peas tucked cozily together, with a deliciously fresh flavor. This variety is a heavy producer.

Name: Shelling Peas ‘Progress #9’
Botanical Name: Pisum sativum ‘Progress #9’
Days to Maturity: 62
When to sow outside: 4-6 weeks before average last frost.
Harvesting: Shelling peas should be harvested when the pods are plump, about 3 weeks after flowering. Peas that are too mature are tough, and will cause the plant to stop producing; therefore, harvest regularly when pods are at their peak. Use scissors to harvest or hold vine with one hand and pick pod with the other to avoid breaking the brittle vines.
